Our Website & Practice
Our aim at the Auckland Plastic Surgical Centre Web site is to inform you of the surgeries,
procedures and products that we provide.
Because everyone’s requirements and circumstances are different, each surgery is always individually tailored
to meet the specific needs of the patient. The information on this site is of a general nature only designed
to help you to understand some of the options available prior to having a consultation with either Mr Rees or
Mr de Chalain. However, if you have questions or would like to discuss your concerns before a consultation,
please contact Wendy our Practice Manager, or our Senior Practice Nurse, Sue.
Before any surgical procedure is undertaken, one or two consultations with the surgeon are required. In our
practice we ensure that patients are treated with respect and confidentiality. We encourage you to ask
questions and to express your concerns. After thorough discussion and examination, a personalized and
tailored solution to your needs can then be outlined. You will be shown before and after photographs of
the procedure you are considering, and you will be given an estimate of costs and printed information to
take with you to read in your own time.
During and after surgery we are very attentive to your pain management, and understand that most people are
concerned about this aspect. With careful administration of the appropriate anaesthetic and drugs, most
patients only experience mild discomfort for a few days after surgery.
Our experienced staff are friendly, professional and supportive. They phone you the day after surgery to
ensure that you are comfortable, and see you at regular post-op visits, as well as at any other time if
needed. Mr Rees and Mr de Chalain are always available by phone and each provides back up for the other
when one is out of Auckland.
All three surgeons regularly attend meetings and international conferences to ensure that they are completely
up to date with the latest developments and techniques in plastic surgery. They are involved in the College
of Surgeons, and the Cosmetic Foundation audit of surgical performance schemes to maintain quality
control.
Everyone at Auckland Plastic Surgical Centre is committed to patient education and satisfaction. We trust
that you will find our Website informative and we welcome your comments and questions.
